Our third Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), an Innovate RAP covering 2026–2028, was launched during NAIDOC Week 2026. It builds on the foundations established through our Reflect RAP, launched in 2021, and our first Innovate RAP, launched in 2023.

Together, these RAPs have helped strengthen our approach to reconciliation by embedding cultural awareness, building relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, and creating opportunities to deliver meaningful financial and housing outcomes.

Our latest RAP focuses on embedding reconciliation more deeply across the organisation - moving from intention to action, and from activity to measurable outcomes through stronger systems and governance and impact measurement.

As part of our reconciliation journey, we have commissioned artwork for each of our RAPs. Our 2026–2028 Innovate RAP features Winanga-Li ("to hear, listen, know and remember") by proud Gamilaroi and Wiradjuri artist Sean Kinchela. The artwork reflects the spirit and intent of Great Southern Bank's reconciliation journey and serves as a visual reminder of the importance of listening, learning and taking meaningful action.

As part of our 2023 Innovate RAP we commissioned an artwork piece, “Turning of the Tide” by Nyul Nyul man Lowell Hunter and it sits in our Melbourne office. You can watch Lowell’s process of creating the artwork in the video below.
