Determining how much life insurance you need depends on your personal financial situation, goals, and family circumstances. To ensure your loved ones are protected, consider the following factors:
- Income Replacement: Provide your family with 5–10 years of your income.
- Debt Coverage: Include enough to pay off significant debts like a mortgage or car loans.
- Childcare & Education: Account for the cost of raising children and funding their education.
- Final Expenses: Cover funeral and burial costs, typically $10,000–$20,000.
- Savings & Investments: Factor in existing savings or investments that might reduce your insurance needs.
