Redeeming your account balances?
You’ve come to the right place.

You were recently contacted by us about our intention to close your Great Southern Bank account(s) and/ or member share, because you no longer have any active accounts with us. This means you can now claim your balances here, by completing the steps below.

Alternatively, if you choose to do nothing, we’ll donate your balances to our community partner on your behalf.

Download and print the ‘Redeem and Close Instructions’ form

The Redeem and Close Instructions form can be filled in digitally, however, you'll still need to print it as it must be signed in pen by hand – we cannot accept digital signatures.

Submit your form

Once you’ve completed your form, simply return it via email to redeem@gsb.com.au.

Alternatively, you can post to Redeem Instructions, Reply Paid. GPO Box 100, BRISBANE, Qld, 4001 or drop it into a local branch.

Frequently asked questions

How long do I have to claim?

Your letter will specify a date to claim your balances. However, if you missed the date, and wish to claim the value of your balances, you can still do so at any time by completing the Redeem and Close Instructions form and returning it to redeem@gsb.com.au. We will donate your balances to charity if we don’t hear from you.

How do I know my account is closed?

Once your member share and account(s) have been closed and the money has been either deposited or donated to our chosen charity, you will receive a confirmation closure letter.

How do I return the form via email?

To return the form via email is easy. Simply print, make sure you’ve completed all the required details, and sign the form in pen by hand. Then, scan or take clear photos of both sides of the printed form and email them to us at redeem@gsb.com.au.

Please ensure that all the information on the scanned or photographed pages is clearly legible.

When will I receive my balances?

We will process your form as soon as possible, but please allow up to 30 working days for it to arrive in your nominated account.

Please double check the account details you provide on the form as we do not accept liability, or any loss incurred due to incorrect or incomplete information provided. Also, we are unable to check that BSB and account names match with customer names at other banking institutions.
