Great Southern Bank has delivered a strong all-round performance in FY26, combining substantial growth in lending and deposits with higher profitability, improved customer advocacy and continued investment in the Bank's future capabilities.

Home lending grew 7.6% to $18.78 billion, while deposits increased 10.4% to $16.02 billion. Net Profit After Tax increased 27.3% to $55.0 million.

Importantly, the strong financial performance was accompanied by improved customer outcomes, and the Bank’s ongoing technology and customer service investments. Great Southern Bank's Net Promoter Score increased from 51 to 56, maintaining its position in the top quartile. The results reflect the Bank’s customer-owned purpose and values, and its continued focus on delivering better outcomes for customers.

Great Southern Bank CEO Paul Lewis said the breadth of the performance was particularly pleasing.

"This was a very strong year for Great Southern Bank – not because of any single result, but because we performed well across virtually every dimension of the Bank.

"We grew home lending and deposits strongly, increased profitability, welcomed more customers and improved customer advocacy. At the same time, we continued to invest significantly in the capabilities that will make us a better bank in the future.

"For a customer-owned bank, these things belong together. Sustainable profitability allows us to keep investing in better products, technology and service while delivering genuine value for our customers."

Helping more Australians into home ownership

During FY26, Great Southern Bank helped more than 14,000 Australians with home loans.

The Bank supported around 3% of Australia's first home buyer market during the year – over three times its overall mortgage market share – demonstrating the continued alignment between its growth and its purpose of helping all Australians own their own home.

"Home ownership remains at the heart of our purpose," Mr Lewis said.

"Supporting a share of Australia's first home buyers substantially greater than our overall market share is something we're particularly proud of. It tells us that our purpose is translating into real outcomes for Australians."

Delivering value for customers

Great Southern Bank's active customer base including small businesses grew by more than 12,500 to over 434,400 during the year.

The Bank's focus on customer value was also recognised independently, with Great Southern Bank named Canstar's Customer-Owned Bank of the Year – Savings for the eleventh consecutive year.

Customer satisfaction in the Bank's Customer Contact Centre reached 97%, with 85% of enquiries resolved on the first call.

Great Southern Bank was also recognised among Australia's most trusted banks by Roy Morgan and ranked among Australia's top four mortgage lenders by brokers and number one among non-major banks.

Building a new small business bank

Great Southern Bank continued to build its digital-first Business+ proposition .

The Business+ Savings Account attracted more than $200 million in deposits following its launch in FY26, while the proposition received Canstar's Outstanding Value Business Savings Account Award for the second consecutive year.

Total active small business customers increased to more than 5,500 during the year, largely driven by strong growth in Business+ and the Bank’s embedded finance partnership with MYOB.

Transforming the Bank for the future

Alongside its growth and customer performance, Great Southern Bank completed a major multi-year transformation of its enterprise data capability.

The program migrated the Bank's enterprise data onto the Databricks platform, including implementation of Unity Catalog, while strengthening data governance, lineage and stewardship across the organisation.

The transformation gives Great Southern Bank a modern, governed enterprise data foundation that supports faster decision-making, improved customer experiences and greater personalisation, while establishing the infrastructure required to responsibly scale advanced analytics and AI.

Great Southern Bank's strong organisational culture was also recognised in 2026 with a Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award for the third consecutive year, placing it among just 78 organisations worldwide – and only three in Australia – to receive the distinction.

"We've deliberately continued investing in both our people and our technology while delivering strong results today," Mr Lewis said.

"Completing our data transformation is an important milestone. It gives our people better access to trusted data and creates a foundation from which we can increasingly use data and AI to improve how we serve customers.

"Combined with the work underway across our digital and technology platforms, we're building a bank that can deliver better experiences for customers while remaining efficient, competitive and sustainable."

Investing in stronger communities

In August 2026, Great Southern Bank renewed its partnership with Mission Australia, committing a further $3 million over three years to support Australians living in community housing.

Through the partnership, Great Southern Bank is helping reduce utility costs, improve energy efficiency and support more sustainable and affordable living for community housing tenants.

The commitment reflects the Bank's broader purpose and its belief that strong commercial performance provides the capacity to create greater value for customers and communities.
